Dr Scotty Newman
Dr Scotty Newman
BSc MBChB MRNZCGP
Scotty grew up in Rotorua, where his parents are working as GP's today. He loved hearing about his parents work, and knew he would be a GP from primary school. He graduated from Otago Medical School in 2012, and now loves the relationships that develop with patients over time, and the way that knowing his patients well allows for excellent care. Scotty enjoys all areas of general practice, and especially loves being part of helping young families thrive. He will be completing further qualifications in Adventure and Wilderness Medicine in 2018, partly to ensure he comes back safely from his many adventures. Scotty is engaged to another lover of the outdoors, and on the weekends they can usually be found (or not) deep in the mountains on their bikes or skis.
