Jill Laird - Occupational Therapist

Jill Laird - Occupational Therapist

Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP)

Jill Laird was born and raised in Auckland, with a brief interlude in Wellington during her formative years when her father was posted here for work. She raised her two daughters in Auckland until they left home in 2017. Subsequent to their departure, she relocated to Wellington, motivated by a desire for a change of environment and an opportunity to once again immerse herself in the city’s friendly atmosphere.

Jill Laird holds the professional title of a registered Occupational Therapist. Her pre-HIP (Health Improvement Practitioner) tenure saw her serving at a day center focused on catering to young adults between the ages of 18 to 29, who presented intellectual disabilities.

Jill’s work as a HIP primarily revolves around helping people identify what’s getting in the way of the life they want, and how they can move back on course. Evidence shows it only takes one small change to set people in a new direction and significantly improve quality of life – and that’s what working as a HIP is all about. When not at work, Jill likes to read, write short stories, work out, get out into nature, and hang out with her lovely friends and daughters.
